The upcoming Griffin Catalyst Exhibition will showcase these remarkable post-war drawings alongside paintings of the same subjects, offering a rare glimpse into the intertwined mediums of one of the world's most celebrated living artists.
Yoko Ono: ‘Music of the Mind’

Yoko Ono, a pioneer in conceptual and participatory art, film, and music, is renowned for her radical ideas and unwavering commitment to world peace. The UK's largest exhibition, YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND, spans over seven decades, showcasing key moments in her multidisciplinary career. From her early years in the US, Japan, and the UK to her influential works like Cut Piece and Film No.4 (Bottoms), the exhibition invites audiences to engage with over 200 artworks, including installations, films, and music. Ono's groundbreaking approach to art and participation, expressed in poetic and radical ways, remains relevant today.
Now You See Us: Women artists in Britain 1520-1920

This exhibition spans 400 years, highlighting women's journeys to becoming professional artists from Tudor times to World War I. Figures like Mary Beale, Angelica Kauffman, Elizabeth Butler, and Laura Knight challenged societal norms by pursuing commercial careers and participating in public exhibitions. With over 150 works, the exhibition dispels stereotypes about women artists, showcasing their determination to succeed in traditionally male-dominated subjects like history, battle scenes, and the nude. Zanele Muholi

Zanele Muholi, a celebrated photographer, is renowned for their global exhibitions. This showcase, featuring over 260 photographs, chronicles Muholi's career as a visual activist, particularly in documenting South Africa's Black LGBTQIA+ communities. Their series, such as 'Only Half the Picture' and 'Faces and Phases,' confront the ongoing violence and prejudice faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, works like 'Brave Beauties' and 'Being' challenge stereotypes while the ongoing series 'Somnyama Ngonyama' explores themes of labour, racism, and sexual politics. Originating from their 2020-21 Tate Modern exhibition, this display includes new works, offering a comprehensive view of Muholi's impactful oeuvre.
